About
Instructor and Founder: Award-winning artist, Stephanie Rozzo
Early on as a mother of two young boys, Stephanie found she had little time to paint for herself. As a result, she honed a sketching method that was simple and quick. Stephanie’s goal is to share this method through Nature Sketch Crate in order to help more people start painting and connect with Nature.
Stephanie has a Bachelor of Science in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from the University of Arizona & a Master’s Certificate in Scientific Illustration from California State University Monterey Bay.
Stephanie also works as a professional freelance artist: View Stephanie’s professional portfolio.
Mission: Enrich people’s lives through art, nature and environmental responsibility.
learn about nature
Educational fun!
“About me” pages are included in the lessons to teach you about the plants and animals you are painting in a simple and approachable way.
grow your artistic skills
Practice makes perfectly imperfect art.
Go out and sketch nature after first following the step-by-step lesson to apply what you’ve learned. The applied sketching practice challenge will help you grow your artistic skills.
help nature
Take simple actions to help!
Lessons include a list of very simple actions you can take to help the environment directly related to the subjects you are learning to paint.
connect with nature
Nature is calming.
Most art classes only address how to create art. Nature Sketch Crate not only helps you to start painting, it also helps you reconnect with nature by encouraging you to spend more time in it.
relax
Painting is good for you!
Art reduces the stress hormone called cortisol.
It also releases the feel-good hormones called endorphins which helps you combat stress and pain.
Bonus: a portion of the profits will be donated to an environmental organization related to the subject you are painting.
You are automatically making a positive impact on the environment just by buying the a crate!
Feel better with nature and art.
Studies have shown that art and nature can reduce stress, make people happier, and improve memory and attention.
"At any skill level, making art reduces stress hormones: Cortisol lowers significantly after just 45 minutes of art creation." - Drexel University.
“… time in nature was found to have a positive effect on mood and aspects of cognitive function, including working memory, as well as a dampening effect on anxiety." -Stanford news.
